According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, “Tarzan” actor Ron Ely’s son, Cameron, was identified as the suspect in the murder of Ely’s wife.
Officials said in a statement that at 8:15 p.m. at the actor’s house, officers responded to a 911 call. on Tuesday.
“Deputies called Ron Ely upon arrival and discovered his wife Valerie Lundeen Ely, 62, who died in the home with multiple stab wounds,” read the statement.
“Deputies on the scene identified the suspect as the son of Cameron Ely’s 30-year-old,” the statement continued.
Deputies searched Cameron, finding him outside the house, for the residence and its surrounding areas. “He posed a threat and 4 deputies fired their weapons at the suspect in response, fatally wounding him,” the statement said, adding that no deputies were wounded.
The Elys lived outside of Santa Barbara in Hope Ranch, an area full of luxury homes.
Previously, the department told Fox News officers when they found a woman inside the home who was “a victim of an apparent homicide” responded to a domestic disturbance.

Ely was in the house at the time of the slaying was unknown, although police previously said an elderly man was there and was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Ely, 81, is best known for playing the same name Tarzan in the NBC TV series 1966-1968. In shows such as “The Love Boat” and “Fantasy Island,” he also had recurring roles.
The office of the sheriff conducts the incident’s criminal, coroner’s and administrative investigations. Both the victim and the autopsies of the perpetrator are pending.
